Over the weekend, I took a little staycation. I checked into a local hotel (Eaton Workshop DC is amazing if you’re ever in the area). And well, I did a little bit something and a whole lot of nothing. And it was the best!
Among the many lessons I learned last year was the importance of being accountable to myself. Taking time to stop and pause–whether to enjoy the moment, rest, or reflect–is so important. Giving myself a little staycation this past weekend was just was I needed and I’m proud of myself for taking care of myself.
One thing I haven’t quite figured out? Why we feel like we need permission to take care of ourselves! Or even why it’s something “special” and to be celebrated. Self-care and soul care are necessary for us to be happy and healthy. Surely every “pause” cannot involve going on a staycation, but shouldn’t being good to ourselves be more routine than luxury?
What are some simple ways that you’ve committed to pause to take care of yourself? Please, leave a comment and let us know!
