Despite Mother Nature’s confusion, it’s officially Spring. And we all know what that means – it’s time for a good spring cleaning!
The change of seasons is an opportune time to minimize your wardrobe. Whether you’re planning to invest in a capsule wardrobe, sign up for Project 333, or are simply ready to part ways with items that no longer serve you, seasonal transitions can make the task a bit easier because you are naturally taking items out of rotation. Remember:
- Do I Love It?
- Do I Need It?
- Will I Wear It? (aka Does This Fit? *smile*)
The answers to these three questions should be a resounding, “yes!” If not, think about why you’re holding on to something that no longer serves you. And consider letting it go.
Start small if you must. Maybe one day you’re tackling your work attire. Perhaps another weekend is devoted to shoes and accessories. Don’t feel like you have to declutter everything at once. It can be extremely overwhelming, and possibly cause to you abandon the task altogether. So take it slow. You didn’t accumulate everything you own in one weekend, so don’t feel like you have to declutter within a specific time frame. And don’t forget to enjoy the process of letting go of what no longer serves you (so that you can make room for what does!)
Happy Spring Cleaning!
