I know it’s been a week or so since my last post, but I’ve been busy looking for summer. Seriously! Those beautiful, leisurely months of May, June and July seemed to speed by. And now it’s early August. How?!
Aside from spending the past few weeks getting my daughter prepared for high school (again, how?!), I’ve been writing… a lot. My second novel and third book, Memoir of Shame, is almost finished! On Sunday, I will begin a two-week residency at the Rhode Island Writers Colony where I plan to finish writing this bad boy. I am so looking forward to spending the last two weeks of my summer with fellow creatives of color.
Despite this season coming to an end, I can definitely say this is one of the few summers where I lived intentionally. I traveled domestically and internationally. I spent time with family and close friends. I focused on my writing. And I spent ample time taking care of myself. It’s been wonderful.
And speaking of wonderful, it’s the most wonderful time of the year – for minimalists. 🙂 Back to School/Dorm Life essentials are perfect for maximizing small spaces. Make a list of what you need, get to shopping, and hurry up… summer’s almost over!
