It’s hard to believe I began chronicling my journey to minimalism in December 2016. In fact, I purchased this domain as a birthday gift to myself. And on January 1, 2017, I launched the Afrominimalist.
So much has happened since then. From growing my online platform to over 20k followers to giving a TED Talk to appearing in Courtney Carver’s forthcoming book, Project 333, it’s been a dream. I am grateful that my lil’ minimalist journey has inspired so many. In fact, it’s one of the reasons why I’ve decided to take things to the next level in 2020—I want to help more people discover the benefits of living an intentional life.
“Intentional living starts in our homes but very quickly influences every aspect of our lives.”Christine
I’ve become more intentional with everything—my time, my resources, and my relationships. More intentional with the opportunities that I pursue, and I am mastering the art of saying “no” to anyone and anything that doesn’t align with my vision and goals. And believe it or not, I’m still being intentional with letting go of stuff! I recently thought, how much fun would it be if we let go of those things we no longer need or use as a community?
The “One Thing, One Day, One Year” Challenge.
Beginning January 1, 2020, I am committing to letting go of one thing every day for the entire year. By the end of the year, I will be free of 365 things that I no longer need or use. And I want you to join me!
As many of you know, my life is already very full so I won’t complicate things with strict rules. 🙂 All that’s required is a personal commitment to let go of one thing every day and shared accountability using the hashtag #1thing1day1year. So, what do you think? Are you up for the challenge? I hope so!
Of course, if you don’t want to wait until January 1st, you can start to today. Because intentional living is your own personal journey. Just know, whenever you decide to begin, I am here to support you. And thank you for supporting me as I continue to learn and grow along the way.
